About us
In 2008 we left the 'rat race' and moved to sunny Cyprus with our 7 cats. We initially rented a villa in a mountain village near Paphos called Kallepia. The views of Mount Olympus were stunning but the weather was cold and very windy at times - yes it does get cold in Cyprus and it snows!
We decided to have a house built and selected a site overlooking Paphos town in a village called Armou. The house took about 18 months to complete and it is an 'upside down' house due to it being built on the side of a hill - the bedrooms are downstairs and the lounge/kitchen upstairs to get the best views.
The village is small and friendly. Our neighbors are mostly Cypriot although there are quite a few British also living in the village.
We keep ourselves busy somehow! Peter does a bit of treasurer work for a club and I do the gardening and work at the animal charity a couple of mornings a week. Also the cats take a lot of our time - especially as we seem to have an ever growing population from the local cats. It is quite a conundrum as we don't really want any more but in order to catch them you have to make friends and then you get them neutered and then they move in! We have no choice!! Of the litters we have had pass through it seem only 1 in 3 kittens survive without help but I guess that is natures way - hard!
